From Paris · France

Paris to Cotonou.

Six hours in the air, one hour of time difference, and a city that speaks French, eats well, and has an empty beach on a Tuesday morning. Cotonou is the easiest African destination to reach from Paris.

The journey

There is a direct link from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle to Cotonou, about six hours. Airlines and schedules shift from season to season: tell us your dates and we set the welcome to your flight. Cadjèhoun airport is fifteen minutes from most of our homes.

The visa

Electronic visa to request before leaving.

The money

Benin uses the CFA franc, pegged to the euro at a fixed rate: one euro is 655.957 FCFA, and that does not move. Your sense of prices travels with you. We accept card, bank transfer and Mobile Money.

Hotel or furnished home?

A whole home with a kitchen, a guardian and cleaning costs less than a hotel room from two people up — and over a month the difference runs into hundreds of thousands of francs. Add a concierge answering around the clock, in French.

Common questions

Do I need a visa for Benin?
Yes, outside ECOWAS. Benin issues an electronic visa, applied for online before departure: it is quick and there is no embassy visit. Bring your yellow-fever vaccination card too, it is checked on arrival.
How long is the Paris to Cotonou flight?
About six hours direct from Roissy. With a European or African stopover, allow eight to twelve hours depending on the connection.
When is the best time to come from France?
November to March: dry season, clear skies, calmer sea. December and January are the liveliest — and the hardest to find a bed in, so book six to eight weeks ahead.
